Philip began the LunaFlex design work in 2015 and co-founded Caeruleum in 2022 to build a company around it. He is the named inventor on US Patent 11,147,677, which covers the fiber-reinforced artificial meniscus at the center of the platform, and leads strategy, financing, and investor relations.

Lawrence is an orthopaedic surgeon with more than 35 years of clinical leadership, and has been one of the foremost experts in meniscal transplantation since 1989. He was Founding Chief and Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery at Cooper University Hospital, and directed the Cooper Bone and Joint Institute.

Matthew E. Colpoys, Jr.

Executive Chairman

Matthew has spent 40 years in the biopharmaceutical industry. As a founding partner of Egret Healthcare Ventures he led the formation of four medical device companies, and before that founded Tactiva Therapeutics and took it through a $35M Series A. He was an early commercial and management hire at Genentech.

Philip spent 35 years at Boeing as an Associate Technical Fellow, responsible for composite structures on aircraft that must survive decades of repeated loading without failing. He holds three utility patents in composite processing and qualified composite fabrication vendors worldwide to Boeing's specifications.

Philip A. Persaud

Philip is the named inventor of US Patent 11,147,677, which covers the fiber-reinforced artificial meniscus at the center of the LunaFlex platform. He began the design work in 2015 and co-founded Caeruleum in 2022 to advance it as a preclinical medical-device program. Before Caeruleum, Philip worked across venture research, diligence, corporate strategy, and financial planning. At Skifte Ventures, he supported investment decisions by analyzing competitive landscapes, industry outlooks, and portfolio-company defensibility. At Newmark Group, he worked with senior leadership on growth initiatives and led financial-planning work for the Knotel Communities co-working product. He now leads Caeruleum’s corporate strategy, financing, and investor relations.

Lawrence S. Miller, MD

Dr. Miller brings more than three decades of orthopaedic, sports-medicine, and institutional leadership to the LunaFlex program. After completing a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Institute in 1985, he served on the core faculty at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and later co-directed its Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. At Lankenau Medical Center, he was Academic Service Chief and Chief of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery. He joined Cooper University Hospital in 2002, serving first as Division Head and then as the founding Chief and Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery through 2022. He also directed Cooper’s Bone and Joint Institute from 2002 to 2022. Dr. Miller received the Philadelphia Sports Medicine Congress Torg Award in 2008 and became a founding member of the MERCuRE Group in 2019. At Caeruleum, he helps connect product development with clinical practice and surgical decision-making.
